Transition For Meaningful Engagement (T4ME) is a flexible, one-on-one coaching program within The BUSY Group’s ADF Transition Support Services, designed for members navigating an unexpected medical or recovery-linked transition. T4ME focuses on small, practical steps, combining holistic coaching with tailored tools to help you rebuild confidence, reconnect with purpose, and explore meaningful work, study or volunteering when you’re ready. 

What's included?

Personalised Coaching

  • One-on-one sessions with a coach experienced in recovery and transition 
  • A non-judgmental space to discuss health, pace, and priorities 

Wellbeing Integration

  • Strategies to manage mental and physical health alongside transition planning 
  • Ongoing support to sustain motivation and resilience 

Practical Transition Tools

  • Access to TESS Hub’s resume & cover-letter builders, job-search links, and career guides  
  • Assistance translating military skills into civilian language 

Skills & Readiness Assessments

  • Optional Cognisess profiling for cognitive and motivational insights 
  • Custom work-readiness checks to highlight strengths and identify next steps 

Connection to Opportunities

  • Referrals to tailored employment, volunteering or training pathways aligned to your goals
  • Freedom to engage only when you feel ready 

Self-Paced E-Learning Modules

  • Choose from all or any 16 CTC e-learning modules—e.g., “Social Connectedness,” “Preparing to Study,” “Planning for Retirement”—at no additional cost  

Individual Modules Overview

T4ME offers access to the full suite of CTC coaching and e-learning modules, at no cost and without referral.

Members can choose to engage with any of these modules based on their goals and interests.

  • Personality Mapping and Career Insights: Explore personality profiles, strengths, and values using tools like Cognisess. Align career pathways with personal traits and interests.
  • Develop Career Goals: Define clear, actionable career objectives tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Competency and Capability Mapping: Identify transferable skills from military service and address gaps with guidance on pathways like RPL for qualifications.
  • Resumé and Job Search Skills: Learn how to build tailored resumés and cover letters using TESS Hub tools. Gain effective job search strategies, including navigating ATS systems and job platforms.
  • Personal Branding and Marketing: Create a professional personal brand. Audit and optimise online presence, including LinkedIn profiles, to connect with employers.
  • Interview Skills: Develop confidence through mock interviews, preparation strategies, and behavioural question techniques like STAR.
  • Negotiation Skills: Learn strategies for salary discussions, negotiating job offers, and workplace conditions.
  • Connecting Participants to Civilian Opportunities: Explore pathways to volunteering, employment, education, and industry networks that align with personal goals.
  • Career Conversations: Covers career development, aspirations, identifying challenges, communication skills, and leveraging support systems.
  • Coaching for Change: Build resilience to embrace change, overcome challenges, and focus on personal growth.
  • Social Connectedness: Discover opportunities to foster relationships and build supportive networks post-service.
  • Preparing to Study: Guidance on education pathways, financial support, and managing study commitments.
  • Becoming a Mentor: Develop leadership skills to mentor others navigating their own transition journeys.
  • Preparing to Volunteer: Identify meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with personal values and goals.
  • Volunteering Connections: Connect with organisations and pathways offering structured roles to stay engaged and contribute.
  • Planning for Retirement: Focus on financial, lifestyle and health planning to create a fulfilling post-service retirement.

How it Works

1. Referral & Match

After your referral is confirmed, you’ll be matched with a Transition Coach who understands Defence experience and civilian expectations. 

2. Coaching Sessions

Flexible meeting options—phone, video or face-to-face—scheduled at your pace. 

3. Action Planning

Co-design a step-by-step engagement plan that respects your health and time. 

4. Ongoing Touchpoints

Regular check-ins to adjust your plan, access new modules or pivot focus as needed.
