Career Transition Coaching (CTC) is a flexible, one-on-one coaching program delivered by The BUSY Group’s ADF Transition Support Services. Whether you’re still in uniform or recently separated, CTC is designed to It’s designed to help you prepare for a successful career after you leave the service.
We’ll work with you at your pace to help you gain clarity on your career goals, build a strong application package, and find work that’s aligned with what you want.

- Learn where and how to find the right roles
- Develop confidence in approaching employers or recruiters
Interview Preparation
- Learn how to answer questions using STAR responses
- Practise with mock interviews (in person or online)
Ongoing Guidance
- Navigate job offers and negotiate conditions
- Explore short courses or retraining if needed

- Personality Mapping and Career Insights: Explore personality profiles, strengths, and values using tools like Cognisess. Align career pathways with personal traits and interests.

- Competency and Capability Mapping: Identify transferable skills from military service and address gaps with guidance on pathways like RPL for qualifications.
- Resumé and Search Skills: Learn how to build tailored resumés and cover letters using TESS Hub tools. Learn effective job search strategies, including navigating ATS systems and job platforms.
- Personal Branding and Marketing: Create a professional personal brand. Audit and optimise online presence, including LinkedIn profiles, to connect with employers.
- Interview Skills: Develop confidence through mock interviews, preparation strategies, and behavioural question techniques like STAR.
- Negotiation Skills: Learn strategies for salary discussions, negotiating job offers, and workplace conditions.
- Connecting Participants to Civilian Opportunities: Explore pathways to
volunteering, employment, education, and industry networks that align with

How it Works
1. Meet Your Coach
After your referral is confirmed, you’ll be matched with a Transition Coach who understands Defence experience and civilian expectations.
2. Flexible Sessions
Choose how and when you meet—phone, video call, email or face-to-face where available. You can space sessions out over weeks or months, depending on your timeline.
3. Personalised Support
Every session is tailored to your goals, progress, and level of readiness. Whether you’re just starting to think about your future or actively applying, we meet you where you are.
4. Job Ready Resources
You’ll also get access to our online portal called the TESS Hub with tools, guides, and templates to support your journey.
